you walk into an office for a very important matter and they tell you it's their Breaktime? I get so upset whenever this happens to me especially when I come from a far place and spend so much traveltime just to get to a business place and they tell me they are closed for lunch break! Well, I know for sure Firemen don't stop their work to take breaks, like the image depicts, but in this country, never, ever enter a government office the minute it turns 12 noon till 1pm because you will never find anyone to assist you, unless you're lucky enough that someone isn't hungry yet and hasn't left his or her desk!

Hard working people have to take a break and we have to be considerate of other peoples time, just as we would want them to be considerate of ours. When a person has a scheduled break time, that is when they need to go and not when you say that it is all right.
Firemen also take breaks, but they are disciplined and trained to work over-time if needed. No one can sit behind a desk all day just waiting to see if a not so understanding patron happens to come by.

i think we all do take our breaks. but atleast, in some places, they take turns so as to make sure someone will be left there to render services to other people who comes between 12 to 1.
i am a pharmacist. i do take and eat my lunch, too. but i always do it in my table inside the pharmacy. there are times when clients come in during lunchbreak and that my sales staff could not handle the number of people. when i see such a situation, even if it's my turn to have my lunch, i stand up and attend to my customers' needs.

Oh yes, you're absolutely right on that! Hard working people do have to take a break. I'm pretty sure the government employees in your country are very, very hardworking. That's exactly why getting around the red tape doesn't exist in your country. Here, you need to bribe some people a few bucks just to get them to do their job, which they are actually being paid for by the same government we pay our taxes to.

yes it always depend on how important is that but they also have point that its their break time even they still seat in their cubicle, actually it happened here in the office where i work, sometimes i answered them if that is a question only but if they to assist them i won't because i am on break.

that's also true here in the philippines. most government offices are closed from 12noon to 1pm. there are also private establishments which won't render their services between 12 to 1pm. it's a bit annoying because when i used to work and only got a 12noon to 1pm break, i cannot have some of my papers processed or just be entertained in offices with the 12 to 1 break policy.
