making money on the internet, big con or big help!?

I myself will hold my hands up and admit that i am a constant 'make money online surfer'! but i have recently asked myself, is it all that its cracked up to be? Admittedly i think we all want to make a bit of extra cash, right? But when all is said and done is all the time that we put in, to making this extra money, worth it? I use paid to surf websites, paid to shop websites and quite a few others that make out you could earn plenty of money each month, however looking back and working it out, over an hourly rate, i'd be lucky if i was making £1 an hour! Anyone have any words of wisdom for me? Or any money making ideas? Apart from the usual, and all the scams that are out there
