I admit that I try myself to be descriptive while posting here but sometimes it takes much to write a certain discussion or response or comment. How do you do all. Can be descriptive or just carry on until you feel that now I have done. Please tell! Thanking you in anticipation for your response.

Yes I try to be as descriptive as possible while replying to discussion.I try to give my thoughts in as much detail and simplicity as I could.Though there is a limitation with some discussions where one cannot give detailed response or where it is not at all required.Few times I also just carry on and finish my response abruptly. It happens when I have given to many responses or I am a bit tired.Usually I take a lot of time in replying to a discussion as I have to do a lot of thinking in replying to the discussions. This is also as sometimes words slip of my mind and I don't find appropriate words for describing my thoughts.

I always try to be as "descriptive" as possible, and I really do try to elaborate on my answers in order to get my points across. However, I do feel that there are certain situations, in which it is more appropriate just to give a brief and conscise answer. When that is said, I also do see a lot of "non-descriptive" answers, and I must admit, that if I see an answer that is not appropriate to the discussion, or where the person only has written two or three words, then I am very easily inclined to mark the response with a -. I do not actually know whether or not these ratings have any effect to the actually point giving system here at Mylot, but I feel that people who elaborate in their responses, and who respons in a correct and appropriate manner deserve a good rating.

I don't seem to have problem being descriptive in my responses nor do I have a hard time coming up with a lengthly response. If the discussion requires just a few words, then I just move on I don't waste my time on it. I only respond to well thought out discussions. I usually have many discussions that are well thought out everyday in my in box. I also try to stay on topic and be descriptive, not just rambling to make in long post.
Some discussions are started here with no thought and don't even make a point, you have no idea what exactly the poster is asking or what they are even trying to get from the discussion, those I just skip right over.

admittedly, at first i was conscious about being descriptive and all. i do try to remember it always. but honestly, when you are absorbed in a discussion sometimes you forget about rules and regulations and just focus on the discussion at hand.
what i do, when responding to a discussion, is to focus on the question and how to answer it. i write until i made my point. if in the process it was as descriptive as possible, fine. if it's short... also fine, as long as i made my point and answered the questions.
fortunately enough, i never seem to run out of words when responding to discussions. but i observed that generally, responses we receive in our discussions are as good as the questions we posted. if we are posting quality questions... the responses we receive will be of quality too. and when i mean quality, the number of responses is beside the point. i like receiving 10 quality responses in my discussions than a hundred responses with only a handful of quality replies.
just do your thing, whatever makes you comfortable. descriptive only helps us explain more. it should not be the only rule. :) goodluck and enjoy! :)
