Let's pretend that we are judges now. We will sitting next to Simon, Randy and Paula. Which one that you think as the biggest priority to becomes a singer ? Great vocal voice is enough or you still looking for those who has charisma, beauty or dazzling look. Or we are looking for unique person ? What will your opinions ?

Neither. First comes style. You can't sell albums if all you do is sing a bunch of Aretha Franklin songs. You need to have a modern, popular style, otherwise you fade into obscurity as another forgotten American Idol winner. After style comes voice, then charisma. I think too many people assume voice is important. Brittany Spears isn't popular for her voice. Her singing is average at best. That's why she never sings at her concerts. It's her style that made her popular. Think about Ashlee Simpson. Her first album sold more copies than all of Jessica Simpson's albums combined. Why? Style. We know she's not talented, and most people don't think she's as pretty as Jessica (I think she's prettier but that's just me). She hit it big because she sung good MODERN music.

So for you, style. The better the style, or the more unique the person is, the more popular they will become. Thanks for the respond, but what do you think style that popular these days ?

Rock music, pop, and country are pretty big right now. Carrie Underwood has sold an unbelievable amount of records since winning. Just listen to the radio or look at MTV. You won't see or hear people like Melinda and Lakisha. Their style isn't popular. Of the remaining contestants I'd say Jordin Sparks and Chris Richardson have the best chances of making a popular album. Blake probably has a good chance as well. Phil isn't bad but he just can't win. He'll probably be out next week.

I think to me the singing counts alot and the looks and style come after, The most important part should be the singing.

For me, it's always been the singing that has been the most important. I like originality, too. But, if they sing off tune, then I definitely don't like it. Next would be personality and the ability to perform on stage. Afterall, American Idol is about finding someone who can be a superstar. If being nervous affects your singing or performance, this I think it means you are not ready.

Voice or talent for that matter because personality comes after that. If a person is mix of both than he can be successful.

If I were one of the judges, I would go for voice first. I certainly would not choose a singer who cannot sing! Style has to be there too though. Beauty is near the bottom of my list. It is nice to have someone who is not bad to look at, but looks are not important if their singing or their songs do not impress me.
