This dog was luckily microchipped. He was lost for 4 years but is now back home safe and sound...I wonder what stories he would tell? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18037022/

That was a very happy ending. I wish that more people would take the time to micro-chip their pets. When a pet is micro-chipped it is like being pinched.

It is so great to hear some good news for a change. It's great that he was found and reunited with his owners. I can imagine how happy they are to have him back. I think it's fantastic that the vet scanned him and was able to trace him back. I have to wonder where the dog had been all that time but I doubt we'll ever know. thanks for sharing this story. It was nice to read it and have that good warm feeling come over me from it.

when my hubby's mum moved house she had 2 collies and they used to keep walking back to the old house , they did this hundreds of times , I was amazed how they found their way , I lost our collie for 2 days and i broke my heart , I was in tears when they found him , I don't know what I would have done if he had been gone for 4 years , what a welcome home he must have got xx

That was a great thing to happen I saw the dog and his famiy being interviewed on this morning's Today Show. I am so glad the dog has a chip in it's ear. The chip was instrumental in many dogs lost in the Katrina hurricane being reunited with their owners.

The rescue group I work with microchips the cats. The lady started this when a cat showed up in a feral group, but was obviously not feral. He was picked up and taken to get fixed. At the clinic they scanned him & discovered he was microchipped, been gone for about a month & the people thought they'd never see him again. She appreciated the reunion so much, that she now has all our cats placed with microchips.

I know a lot of people are afraid of these new microchips but I think it is great for animals, you don't have to lose them anymore.
