Okay I saw this and had to post it. There was a post way back with this topic which I'd replied to. So now I thought this would be good to see. --------------- They Have Heard 'em All ------------------ AUSTIN, Texas - Even Texas state troopers on traffic patrol have a sense of humor, or at least one does. Trooper Robbie Barrera told the Austin American-Statesman that he let two speeders off with warnings because they gave him a laugh. In one case, a man in a giant chicken suit said his chicken foot got stuck under the accelerator. The other time, a motorist handed him a Monopoly "Get Out of Jail Free" card along with her license and registration. "Some things are just so comical, you have to laugh at it," Barrera told the American-Statesman. The newspaper said traffic cops hear a lot of lame excuses from lead-footed drivers. The most common one is having to use the bathroom. Eric Poteet of the Round Rock (Texas) Police Department, told the American- Statesman some of the worst excuses he's heard include: "I couldn't have been speeding; my car doesn't go that fast" and "I wasn't speeding -- my cruise control was only set at 5 over the limit."
