I am desperately looking for a 1948 fairy tale book that my mother had as a child. Let's Pretend was written by Nila Mack and illustrated by Catherine Barnes. The book was chartruese in color and was published by Whitmans. If you have or know where I can purchase this book, please respond!

I am confused now, because reading the details on the link I provided it sounds like a hardcover book talks about a spine and everything...but the picture shown matches the picture of the one at amazon which states it is an audio cd... it certainly is not the chartreuse colored one that you mentioned.

I have the Let's Pretend by Nila Mack. The stories are "Cinderella", "The Leprechaun", "Childe Roland", "Princess Moonbeam" and "Rumpelstiltskin". It is not in the best condition as the binding is not complete.

if you are looking to sell it you might could get a fair penny at ebay.com! ladyljs, did you gift the book to your mother? what was her reaction? I would have loved to have been there to see the surprised look on her face.

I found this book last Mothers Day at ebay. ALthough I paid $84, my Mother was just beside herself! By the way, her name is Sharon....fancy that?!?!? Mom has since put the book in a clear cover and proudly displays it in the front room of her home. Sharonw5, if you so desire, ebay is a great place to sell your book. This is a rare book, and even in less than perfect condition, commands a pretty good price. ( I have seen them go from $40 in poor condition to nearly $200 in fine condition. You might want to consider selling it through that avenue! Thank you both for your input...here's a star for both of you!
