Manhunter, CSI, and Petersen

I've recently been catching up on William L. Petersen's career. I've seen "To Live and Die in L.A., and was shocked by it, and last night I saw "Manhunter" which I'd seen before, but never recognised Petersen for his contribution. I was a little confused by "Manhunter" at first - It's like three of the Hannibal Lector movies all rolled into one! I was also stunned by the fact that the more recent films took so much from the original. Petersen was something to look at - and I especially enjoyed his "getting into the mind of the killer" routine that is so like Sherlock Holmes. You know in "The Secret of Sherlock Holmes" (the play) Jeremy Bret intimated that Holmes was so like Moriarty that...he...might be...Moriarty! From years of trying to get into Moriarty's head, was Holmes now trapped in his persona? Seeing Petersen so wracked with emotion over the "mind game" that he had to play with The Tooth Fairy was a whole lot of fun. So, how did you find "Manhunter" - and for that matter, "To Live and Die in L.A."? Do you think Grissom grew from the two characters? What do you think of Petersen?

I dont remember "To Live and Die in LA" but I have seen "Manhunter" several times.I believe it is actually the prequell of the Hannibal Lector movies. I have always liked him and enjoy him on "CSI" Did you know he is bowlegged?
