Great PR or just plain stupidity?

Philadelphia Eagles staff has reportedly made an accounting error and paid Brian Westbrook a roster bonus twice. Now they're filing a grievance because he hasn't paid the money back yet. I don't know how long they gave him and yes, I do believe he needs to give the money back, but my question is WHAT IS THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT SMOKING? Honestly, it seems more and more, people are making expensive stupid errors that would get most people fired and the wrong party is getting slammed--in this case, the Eagles made the error and should have kept this mess under their hats and privately pushed for a return of the money, rather than pull a T.O. and air their dirty laundry. What do you think?

It was quite shocking that their accounting department made an error in the roster bonus as their organization is always on top of things and do not make these kinds of mistakes often. I am sure Westbrook does not mind that they made this kind of mistake but if he is an honest person he would return the money to the team and not keep it. That would save a lot of time and headaches for everyone. Who knows what happened but it did and hopefully it gets resolved soon? Someone is probably going to get in trouble for this mistake.

Westbrook knows about the money (I mean, how could you miss $6 million deposited into your account) but apparently while claiming to return the money, e has not yet done so in a fast enough time frame for the Eagles. This reminds me of the tight-fistedness of Leonard Tose, the former owner.
