I watched the remake of The Little Mermaid. It has Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Noma Dumezweni, Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, and Awkwafina in it. Big Warning: there is a tiny bit of violence. I had heard many people say how they didn't like this movie. I wanted to see how bad it is. Yes, I agree with everyone. It is bad. The music was mostly horrible. I found another YMS video of this remake (shared below). I agree with everything he says. Next week I'm watching another The Little Mermaid movie that was made in 2018.

It's disappointing when a movie doesn't live up to expectations, especially when it is a beloved story like "The Little Mermaid." Hopefully, the 2018 version will be more enjoyable for you. Do you have any expectations or hopes for this upcoming viewing?

Melissa McCarthy's portrayal in that movie was somewhat unfulfilling to me. I haven't seen a remake that topped the animated one.

Oh, I remember when half the world complained about the lead actress for her looks. I was never bothered to watch it because I'm not into musical movies and the Little Mermaid is far from being one of my favorite Disney classics. I watched some of the review and wow, animals appear to be the worst thing there. I thought it could at least be enjoyed by children, but instead the "hyperrealism" made it too colorless and depressing not even kids would like it.
