Yard Day

We will be getting the mowing done today. I may have to use the weed whacker as I didn't last week. I will know after I run the push mower close to things. I hope I don't have to do a lot.
I finished the first monster except it's eyes. I made a great start on the second one. Then I will make the eyes. I should have this one finished tonight. I want to get back to making my flytraps

It keeps the bugs down. Especially mosquitos and fleas. This time of year we try to do it once a week. Later in the summer we can sometimes skip a week. We do have a good sized garden most years. Have plenty of trees at the property line and bushes in the yard. But I know people that don't. I have room for livestock to graze and might get some more

@wolfgirl569 We use DDT sprays or mosquito repellants. I know they are bad and banned. But they are necessary here as we do not have lawns nor as many trees. Yet the mosquitoes come because of the sewer water overflowing.
I thought it was mandatory for you all to maintain your lawns. Kinda, law required you all to do so.
Do you all have snakes Eva?

@vandana7 It depends where you live on the law. I am in the country so no restrictions. We don't have to mow if we don't want to. But most cities have regulations. I see snakes at time's. The ones here are not dangerous

Relaxing in a nice bath sounds perfect after all the work you have planned. That's one thing I"m thankful for with my HOA fees (no mowing or snow shoveling).

Hope that mowing and all of that goes well....I know some people enjoy it but it's not always a fun thing lol.
I will be helping my mom mow her yard in a couple hours...not looking forward to that lol

We had so, so much rain yesterday. The baby geese were actually swimming next to my tomato plants! I fear the plants are now no more, today, they appear to be drowned. Ugh.

I went out and looked at the plants, it's very, very muddy but they still look alive. The downside being tomorrow afternoon/night we are probably going to get big winds, torrential rains, and overall just stormy weather. Heads up, what I get, you often get soon after!
