Deletion

It was very unwise of me to actually just open up all my notifications here without even considering the idea of deleting them. Now there's about 500+ viewed notifications, and the longer I let them all remain undeleted the more confused I get on which of the notifications are new whenever I look through it with my phone. Seriously, I need to delete all viewed notifications now.

This is something that I should have done in the first place.

I do that, too. I learned the hard way.

I scroll to the bottom of the notifications. then I start viewing, commenting if warranted, and delete as I go. I try hard to respond to all of the comments on my posts, I am sure I miss a few once in a while...if a person is kind enough to respond, it's much appreciated...I'm always a bit behind. I try to keep it caught up when I can, but usually, I am a day behind!

@HaruLoid The main thing for me is not to delete them until I respond to them, so that's what I do.

It can definitely get overwhelming when they stack up like that. Clearing out the old ones sounds like a good plan to help you keep track of the new ones more easily. Maybe setting a regular schedule to clean them up could help prevent them from accumulating again in the future. Happy decluttering!

I'm thinking of deleting them immediately after acknowledging them.

Yes. I'm just back today after a very long time gone but, yes, that is the way I do it. Delete the responses I have seen and responded to. Delete the notifications that say I was mentioned or my response liked as soon as I've checked them. Delete the notif that someone followed me after I've followed them. The notifications here can be quite redundant. Btw, I see you joined recently. Welcome to mylot!

You will change the way that you myLot now. Just go to the end of the list and work backwards, deleting as you proceed through the list. Then each time you log on get to the notifications, it may make for more trips to the site cleaning up and deleting notifications as you go.

I let them delete themselves. I often don't get to all of them anyway.

I don't think it deletes itself?
