What do you see when you look at this picture? - Yes that sounds like a pretty simple straighforward question but only just under a year ago she was savaged by a dog and had to endure 3 operations to correct what this dog had done to her face. You would not believe how rude people were when they passed me and my daughetr in the street, staring, and some even said she should not be out like that. It's damn well hurtful and although she is still young she is old enough to understand what is going on around her. Next time you pass someone in the street who has any type of facial disfigurement or scar, please try and look beyond that and realise that there is a person in there with feelings and a heart. Please don't stand and stare. It hurts, speak to the person and you will realise that they are not just a scar or dissability but a person in their own right. I have read some really disturbing storys on here of how people have been shunned and spoken to due to not looking how other people want them to, having been through this myself with my little girl and my little brother I ask that we all spread the word to the ignorant people out there and let them all know that what they say and do hurts. Thank you for reading my rant.
