What is with students in public school and even college relying on a calculator?

I think that they have become totally reliant on them and are almost unable to add quick two decimal calculations in their head and do multiplication up to 12 without using a calculator.How do you feel about this and do you think...

DarkMessenger I'm guilty of doing this myself. I'm completely useless at maths, and even now I feel the need to whip out a calculator for the simplest of sums. Mostly because I can, and I'm not in an exam or anything which means that I need to work things out for myself....
