If the temperature this morning is 0 degrees and the Weather Channel says, "it will be twice as cold tomorrow", what will the temperature be?

BubblyIan It just shows how stupid the weathergirls are on tv - their general level of intelligence is very low - they are usually only there because the editor thinks they are cute!

Just an Ordinary Owl? There really was a radio presenter who read out the temperature on morning in New York. I think he wasn't quite awake yet because he said "The temperature this morning in New York is zero degrees ... good heavens! No temperature at all!" You are right, of...

loxion Ha!ha!ha that's a funny one, i think the Weather Channel got the statement all wrong there, i mean what will that be? -0 squared(-02)? That was very funny one, i hope they rectify that so that they don't make same mistake again, because it might sound like...

ganga472007 The only way is to convert it from celcius to fahrenheit or vice versa. If it is measured as C then 32/2 = 16F. If in F then it will be -16C.

Answer truthfully (yes or no) to the following question: Will the next word you say (or type) be 'no'?

paradox

Valenas Yes. By saying yes, I think that it actually bypasses it's intent. In fact, I am lying to you. Instead of saying no, I said that yes, my next word will be no, when my word was actually yes. I think this exercise does not really have the intent that it is meant...

My question to you is... Do you want one, none (but would make an exception), or no intention, ever? If you're one of the few who has none and wants none, care to share? I promise I won't bite, I have a few friends who do not...

Don't we already have a national security force....The National Guard?

spalladino @spalladino (17891) • United States 11 Nov 08

Instead of recreating what we already have, the National Guard should return to it's origins. I have never agreed with the decisions to send these troops to fight in wars overseas. Any thoughts? [i]The National Guard, the...

davebrown64 Great discussion on the history of the National Guard. You are right, they are our National Defense Force. However, I think that President-Elect Obama has something else in mind than improving on this great body of soldiers. I am sorry to say this, but I am...

how people use words

savypat @savypat (20216) • United States 7 Nov 08

Do you say when or do you say whenever. In parts of the country you would say when my parents got married but in other parts you would say whenever my parents got married. Which do you use?

Sheepie I think I would use when most of the time. I would use whenever my parents got married if I did not know when they got married. Or, I would use whenever if it happened many times, such as "Whenever I fell asleep, I would have the same dream"

Bethany1202 Umm... I don't know exactly quite what you mean. Are you referring to most people's life being stress-free and simple? If so, I don't think that's the case for most people. I know I struggle daily and lately it seems increasingly harder to pay bills and...
