urbandekay Well, what I mean is that it is a human tendency to impute human qualities on non-human things. Primitive cultures imbue the wind, chance, volcanoes, springs and other things with human personalities. Even in the modern day we personalise cars, ships and...

AShraderJr I am a man. Therefore I have no right to have an opinion about abortion. But anyone that kills a doctor that has broken no laws, should be locked up for life. I definitely think that letting this guy off will lead to more Doctors being murdered.

You've likely heard by now that according to a new book, "Game Ghange", Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada had said of Barack Obama that, “the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one...

anniepa I've seen Al Sharpton interviewed at length several times since this story broke and what I've heard him say is that he was offended or disturbed - I honestly forget which word he used - over the use of the word "Negro" and the phrase "Negro dialect" at first...

anniepa Really, you think too much was made of what Trent Lott said? I wouldn't expect him to insult a man on his 100th birthday but he really should have skipped the part about being proud of having supported him for President even if it was many years earlier. He...

anniepa I agree. He was giving Obama a compliment in a strange sort of way, I suppose. As I said, the word "Negro" is still accepted and used by older people. Really, when you think about it, what did Reid say that was one bit different from what many political...

Wendy Reid shouldn't have said what he said, to be sure. There is no easy or truly acceptable way to say what he meant because there would always be someone somewhere who would take offense to it, but it was true. A dark-skinned candidate with a heavy urban...
