Why are people so ignorant sometimes, and when you call them for it, they get arrogant and deny it?

LegionOf8 Here's my take on humanity. People are unaware of how much damage their ignorance causes. And when you say something about it, they get arrogant and stubborn instead of taking it in to consideration for their next action with that person or any person really.
