Are you caring for your parent(s)?

miamilady @miamilady (4910) • United States 9 Jun 08

I was going to use the word "elderly", but I'm not ready to put that label on my dad yet. There comes a time in life where our roles reverse. The once that nurtured and cared for us, eventually need us to return the...

Libra67 My mom takes care of her mother and she is now where someone has to even bathe her. She is 80 and her health is going down more every day. It has taken a toll on my mom because she has to constantly keep a check on my grandma. We have tried to get someone to...

More of my grocery store pet peeves.....unbehaved kids.

bonbon664 @bonbon664 (3466) • Canada 9 Jun 08

As some of you know, I find the whole shopping thing very frustrating at times. This weekend, it was parents letting their screaming brats cruise around the grocery store. One of them was wearing those "wheelie" shoes (which I...

Libra67 First off, if you have control of your children, those wheelie shoes won't be a problem. My daughter has a pair and she knows exactly how to behave with them on. If she doesn't, she doesn't wear them again for a while. Second, I can't stand parents that have...

Divorced parents and holidays

Who is responsible for buying the gift? Since Father's Day is coming up, I'm in charge of buying the kids gifts to give my ex-hubby. That's just the way we do it and it works for us. He helped them buy things when it was Mother's...

Libra67 You sound a lot like my ex and I. I am so blessed to still be friends with my ex husband. We still take our daughter to eat on occasion. He comes to all her school functions and extracurricular activities. He is a great father and since I make a very low...

Libra67 You have to get her involved in other activities. The adults around her should be playing learning games with her, taking her outside and letting her learn about nature. She definitely should not so addicted to the tv.

Bathing together.

kangel48446 @kangel48446 (507) • United States 3 Jun 08

My husband threw a fit because I let my daughter who is two and my friend's son who is 18 months take a bath together. I didn't see any wrong in it, so I'm here to ask you. I plan to let my two girls take baths together, if they...

Libra67 My daughter and nephew (same age) took a bath together until they were about 2. For a boy and a girl, I think around 2 should be the cut off point. I think for 2 little girls or little boys, I think about 3 or so. But after that, they need thier own privacy.

When is a child old enough to bathe him/herself?

jashley1 @jashley1 (746) • United States 9 Jun 08

I realize part of this answer could be when the child is really able to cleanse him or herself effectively, but I was just wondering if there is a certain age that most parents let kids start bathing themselves?

Libra67 When my little girl was about 7, I started to let her bathe herself. I would let her soap up and then have her call me when she finished so I could make sure she did a proper job.

What would you do if you won $1 million in a lottery? $100 million?

imagenius128 @imagenius128 (109) • United States 7 Jun 08

One of the many things I've always been most curious about is how people would use tons of extra cash if they had it. So please, answer HONESTLY, without just saying you would "give it to charity" to make you look good. There...

Libra67 IF I won the lottery, after I tithed to my church and helped my family, I would move. My daughter and I want very much to move out from under my family. I would find a nice place with room for horses for my little girl. I would probably home school my daughter...

About Yourself, an Honest Opinion

sumofalltears @sumofalltears (3966) • United States 22 May 08

Libra67 I feel that if you have something of value to add, be honest and open. You can disagree with someone without being rude about it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If I have a strong opinion different from a friend, if I am asked I will reply honestly...

Libra67 I feel that honesty is the only way to go. You can get through anything if you have honesty and trust in a relationship. The reason my marriage broke up was a lack of trust because my husband lied constantly. So, if you are in a relationship you need to be...
