Fiction recommendations needed

aurryinne @aurryinne (66) • Singapore 14 Nov 06

I like something well-written, well-paced, strong plot and storyline, and a clear character voice. My preference is Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and Paranormal Romance, although I'll take some unusual Mysteries and Thrillers...

Withoutwings I really liked "The Time Traveler's Wife." It's kind of sci-fi, but not in the general sense of the word. It's a romance that has paranormal elements - but not ghosts, vampires, etc. It was one of my favorite books this year.

Hello, my name is Theodora, I'm a 20 year old Singaporean Chinese girl who's training to be a librarian. In my spare time, I'm participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) 2006, although outside of November you'll...

Withoutwings Hello! It's nice to meet you. What does your user name mean? It's very pretty. I wanted to be a librarian - but I like art history more, so I'm going to be a curator at an art museum. I'm Jenn by the way.

I need help picking best responses on my older discussions

isasice @isasice (2015) • Iceland 11 Nov 06

It's time to pick the best answers for the first discussions I posted on here but some of them are not easy to pick. I have a few friends on here who have been very active in answering my questions and I think I might be a little...

sbeauty I think you should wait longer before you choose. Discussions go around and around and around here, and I like to wait until I think interest has completely died down before designating the best answer. I also tend to be biased to my friends that help me so...

FlaKNMB Tiffanie, it looks to me like you're doing a great job. You're posting questions, leaving comments for the people who have responded to your questions and I assume answering other people's questions. Be sure to rate the answers you get (+ or -) and choose...

tamra2 I was raised as a Christian. My parents never forced a religion on me, I was free to choose. Christianity was the only thing really available to me as a child so that is the direction I went. I started asking questions around the age of 8. By the time I was 11...

When do you select the best answer?

isasice @isasice (2015) • Iceland 8 Nov 06

I have only been here for a few days and was wondering when would be the appropriate time to select best answer to my discussions. Do you wait for a certain amount of time or just pick one when you see a good answer? I have...

Koalemos A very good question. I tend to wait for a while to see what responses I receive. as for the period of time, there is no set value that I use. The post usually gets responses shortly after posting and soon slows down to a stop, so at that point I shall choose...

isasice @isasice (2015) • Iceland 6 Nov 06

I just noticed my ratings drop down from 180 to 120.... I don't see that any of my discussionshave been deleted. What could be the reason for this?

tmnjyk Oh, maybe you didn't upload images for that day? or you didn't respond to many discussions as you used to? or could be just a bad day. I don't really know how mylot rate our posts, but I hope I do! I sometimes wonder, there are days, that I post, long, three...
