How much is your budget for gifts for your kids?

We usually agree upon $100 per kid, unless we get them a joint gift. One year we got them a swing set for $100, so they each got a little less from us that year.

Anyone find the holidays unbearable and sad? Fortunately, I do not. I thrive during the season, which runs from the day before Thanksgiving until January 7.

Bell ringers at department stores

Do you think this should be allowed? I don't. I think an offering box is fine, but not a person ringing a bell. I have never gotten a comfortable feeling from any bell ringer enough that I would make a donation.

Donations during the holidays

Are you more likely to make donations of money, time, or items? I do all three. I donate money to my daughters' private school, I dontate time to their school and to Girl Scouts, and I donate items for charity auctions.
