Do you fall asleep in front of the tv?

I can't fall asleep with the tv on. I don't understand why people will sleep in a chair with the tv on? If they're tired why don't they just get up and go to bed? And if you wake them up and tell them to go to bed why don't they?

seamonkey Once in a blue moon, if I am very, very tired I might drift off while the children are still watching television, but it will usually only be for a few minutes. Normally the tv or the radio or any noise like that prevents me from falling asleep. I guess since...

I can't fall asleep with the tv on. I don't understand why people will sleep in a chair with the tv on? If they're tired why don't they just get up and go to bed? And if you wake them up and tell them to go to bed why don't they?

sunshine4 I go to bed when I am tired and turn the tv on. I always fall asleep with the tv on....for some reason it is easier for me to relax with it on. If it gets turned off before I am asleep, I have to turn it back on.

secretbear at night, i dont leave the tv on when i go to sleep. i make sure i turn it off before going to sleep. But during the afternoon when i take naps in front of the tv, i usually leave it turned on. i cant take a nap without the sound of a tv in the background....

carlysle i usually fall asleep with the tv on... :) i dont know why but sometimes i cant sleep if its too quiet in my room.. :)

vstorm Me personally, I don't fall asleep watching TV, but my husband and my youngest son both do quite often. I guess they don't get up because they are too sleepy to move. I know I feel that way sometime, like I can't move I'm so tired.
