I just got in from an all day excursion to the clinic. I have two serious problems, one of which is COPD and the other is chronic pack pain. My back progressively worsens, and it has gotten to the point where the pain is extreme...

I have this theory I would like to put out there for consideration. It is about both wasting time and enjoying life. I think that should a person be genuinely enjoying that which he is doing, in any given situation, then that time...

Have you ever woke up to find yourself staring eye to eye with a big, black snake, only to find out that you are still dreaming? And then the snake bites you on the cheek, and you jerk awake wide-eyed and screaming, your body...

Youth, or Experience?

cookieduster16 @cookieduster16 (134) • United States 31 Oct 10

I am at the stage in life where I can see value in both the vivacity of youth and the experience of age. I hope that when I am older I don't write the youth off as a lost cause due to their idealism, but if the younger generation...

America's mid-term election

cookieduster16 @cookieduster16 (134) • United States 31 Oct 10

Okay MyLotters, let's get serious about this election, but keep it level headed. The way I see things, the basic difference between the Tea Party, the Republican Party, and the Democratic Party, is that the Tea Party favors small...

Favorite Bible chapter

cookieduster16 @cookieduster16 (134) • United States 31 Oct 10

What is your favorite Bible chapter, and why? Mine is chapter 8 of Romans, because if I look at the Bible as if it were a cathedral, then Romans would be the dome of the cathedral, and chapter 8 would be the highest spire of that...

I have three questions I would like to pose. First, why is it that we allow our emotions to overrule our reason when it comes to politics? Seems like we could accomplish something meaningful if this were not true. Secondly, why is...

The Word of God

I really wonder how that a person could describe themselves as a Christian yet make the statement that the Bible is irrelevant to individuals in modern society. I see the Bible as the revealed Word of God, and cannot fathom...

The Gospel and politics

cookieduster16 @cookieduster16 (134) • United States 29 Oct 10

Some pastors, and some lay people, are actively challenging the IRS on the issue of preaching politics. The IRS position is that pastors may not preach politics from the pulpit and retain their tax-exempt status. Many Christians...

pulpit politics

I am interested in hearing opinions on the subject of pulpit politics. Do you think that it is appropriate in God's eyes and legal according to the U. S. Constitution for a pastor to preach politics from the pulpit?
