Safe amount of running per week?

I've been running about 3 weeks now and I run about 30 minutes five times a week. How many times a week is an okay amount, as I've heard you shouldn't run every day? Any runners-how much do you run a day/week?

crankypants Sounds like you have the right approach. If you want to pick a day to run a little longer I would plan your days off before and after the longer run. I hope you enjoy running. It keeps me sane!
