Can you use quilting fabric to sew clothes?

I am kindof a newbie to sewing and want to sew apparel. What is the difference between Quilting Fabric and Apparel Fabric? Can I use quilting fabric to make clothes?

funandgames Thanks for your help. I dont understand why they call it quilting fabric when it is really just cotton fabric (no quilting added). I did decide on a thicker cotton one for my project. I hope it goes well.

funandgames I was trying to think of my favorite male country singer and these three were on the top of my list. I was having a hard time deciding and thought that maybe others would have the same issue and thought I would find out what others think.
