Vacationing In the Beauitful State

In your own opinion, where is the best place to go on vacation in the state of North Carolina? We are planning to take a trip and need some GOOD Ideas.More than just the mountains or beach, specifics would be most helpful.

graciesmom143 Spell much [graciesmom143?] ughhh...:) I love Asheville but I want to go somewhere historical and peaceful... NO tourists:) AT ALL--- But unfortunately I don't think this is possible. :( Too bad NC isn't as big as Tejas [TX..Texas] huh?
