Blackbriar's Shadow - This is my Lab that I recently had to put down due to old age. Arthritis finally beat him down. He was such a trooper thou. Dealing with losing his hearing, then his sight. Final straw was when I came home from work one day, he wouldn't come to the door to go potty. Found him in the living room unable to get up. He gave me 'the look' letting me know it's his time to go. I owned his father as well, Prince Blackbriar whom I had to put down cause cancer finally beat him. My mom was keeping him for me till I could find a house. She called me and told me to come right away. Something was wrong with Briar. I got there and took one look at him and broke down crying. Mom wanted to know what was wrong. Told her Briar just told me he was saying goodbye to me and that he was ready to leave this world. Since he was in the basement, I literally lifted all 80lbs of him and carried him up the stairs and out to the car. Stayed with him at the vet's while they gave him the shot to go to sleep forever. Hardest thing I ever had to do. Least he left me a son whom I enjoyed for 11yrs. You see Shady here and you see his dad as well. Both runts and the best of the litter. I have a ton of memories with both my Labs and still cry today when I think about them. They are now side by side in urns on my mantle above my fireplace.
