Tonight Ziggy sees Changes to Heroes

Peter B. Giblett @pgiblett (6501) • Canada 11 Jan 16

My number 1 track of all time is David Bowie and Tina Turner playing "Tonight" live. Bowie is my favourite artiste of all time and there is good reason for this Major Tom was one of the earliest persona's that he took on and...

When I was a kid, I was terrified of David Bowie!

ivyoon @ivyoon (673) • United States 26 Sep 07

I used to have nightmares after I saw Labyrinth in the movie theatre. Now, Jareth doesn't bother me anymore, but I was terrified when I was a kid. Did anyone else have this experience when they saw the movie as a child? Over...

grumpybear I used to watch it a lot when I was little and yeah, David Bowie was creepy in it. I think I was more afraid of him than I was of the puppets and stuff. My mom was watching something and he was on it and I said "Oh snap, that's the dude from Labyrinth, and...

ivyoon I haven't seen Bowie lately, but I somehow can't imagine him being completely "normal" (whatever that is) :) I think he was very believable as the Goblin King too. When I first saw the movie in the theater as a child, I had no idea who he was either... it...

Is Quicksand the saddest Bowie song?

jend80 @jend80 (2071) • United Kingdom 8 Oct 07

it just sounds so beautifully yet tragicially messed up - shows the full depth of his obsessions with Occult mysticall thinking and beliefs bordering on Fascism, and the way he sings "Knowledge comes with death’s release" and the...

nancyrowina It is indeed a sad song but I think some of the songs "Man Who Sold The World" are sadder, before he went through the ziggy stardust transformation.

David Bowie a true legend!

Michael McCathern @Grandpa_Clueless (22) • Easton, Pennsylvania 11 Jan 16

The news of David Bowies passing has truly saddened me. His music was such a big part of my youth, and the memories that come to me from listening to his songs always bring a smile to my face. David was a genius, a true...

Peter B. Giblett "Yes it saddened me as well." He says as Panic in Detroit rings around the room from the turntable. I also wrote on this subject

EugenesDIYDen His music would have been a part of my childhood and teenage years in the 70s and 80s, but most music went over my head then and I didn't have a great interest. I only really re-discovered him and other artists in the last 20 years or so. I wish I had been...

Gudheart @gudheart (12646) 12 Jan 16

I just heard that David Bowie is coming out with a new album!

Suzieqmom @Suzieqmom (2754) • United States 9 Jan 13

This will be the first new album in 10 years! I only heard a short news clip on the radio about this, so I don't have all the details yet. Have any other DB fans heard anything about this? I am really looking forward to hearing...

jazzsue58 Great that he's making a come-back, but oh how I wish he'd take up acting again! I never did quite recover after that late-night Labyrinth session.

Suzieqmom I still love his music, although his later stuff not as much as the music he produced in the 1970s and early 80s.... As for his son, that is interesting, although I can completely understand why he might choose not to be called "Zowie Bowie"...
