Are they hired?

Does anyone else agree that the people who go to auditions and know they cannot sing might be hired to give the show a little laughter or edge. Or do you think it is the 15 minutes of fame need?

undertherose No, I don't think they're hired. Do you see how many people show up at the auditions? It's in the tens of thousands. It's just the producers jobs to weed out the delusional crazies and put them on the air for entertainment and rating's sake.

kelly60 I'm not sure, but I know at the karaoke show that I go to every week, we have a singer who really cant sign. She gets as much, if not more applause than most of the good singers. The reason for this is not because she can sing, but because of the entertainment...

Rahleah I don't think they need to hire them. If you've been to the inner city (or even some backwoodsy areas) I'm sure you've seen people like this. Well, when they show up by the tens of thousands for auditions like this, I'm sure you are going to see hundreds of...

cwilson26 Actually me and my mom were just talking about this today and we think it might be possible that some of them are hired just to spice up the show. I mean a lot of them have to know that they are making fools of themselves. You couldn't pay me enough to get on...
