are some cats never able to tolerate a second cat in the home?

i have tried twice to bring a second cat into the home. my 9 year old cat, Katy will become depressed and urinate on shoes and throw rugs every time. i end up finding a home for the second cat and after a week or so Katy returns...

ningpo Younger cats will usually tolerate a new addition. My 8 year old cat refuses to accept a new cat in our home. They are indeed territorial...sorry to break the news.

ningpo sounds like it's time for a new network card. You can probably pick up a new network card for $30 - $40. You might want to choose a USB network adapter as it will save you on an expensive repair bill if you try to get the laptop's internal adapter repaired....
