GOLDEN RETRIEVERS: any tips?

okay, so i might get a golden retriever (GR). and yes, it has to be a GR because thats the only dog my dad will get me as he loves GR's. however, i've only owned/taken care of small dogs such as chihuahua's or miniature...

What should I get my Dad for his 50th?

My Dad is turning 50 in 2 months, and I have no idea what to buy him! I wanted to get a 50 year old bottle of whiskey, but I can't afford the $10,000 it would cost! I'm on a pretty limited budget here, so what would you suggest?
