Do you help the homeless in any way?

SxyFlGrl315 @SxyFlGrl315 (306) • United States 19 Feb 07

What do you do when you see a homeless man or woman on the street asking for money or food? Do you stop to give, do you atleast offer a kind smile? That smile may be the only one they receive all day. I admit that I...

Chase and tackle...the kleenex game!

loved1 @loved1 (5328) • United States 16 Feb 07

This time of year I see tons of kids walking around with runny noses. This is not such a big deal if they are old enough to use a kleenex, but toddlers have an aversion to this. I used to have to chase them through the house and...

oscar30 I buy a big pack at Sam's club. It has one box of lotion and the rest are plain. Yesterday I was at a fast-food play place. We live in the cold and the high this week was about 7 above zero. There are not a lot of cheap places to let the kids run so once a...

oscar30 I hope I never have to make this choice. I know my Mother would say she regrets taking me. She has a lot of guilt and questions even though it was 11 years ago and she is a happy grandmother now.

oscar30 We didn't plan our family, instead we honestly wanted God to plan it for us. We got pregnant for the first time about 2 1/2 years into our marriage. We had kind of forgotten it was possible and the timing seemed awful. My husband had lost his job and I had...

oscar30 Not having so many "lovers"! When two people wait and marry that true love before becoming "lovers". Its an unpopular idea, but one that has proven again and again to work!

oscar30 Yes, I really do think it is dangerous. You and your husband need some quality time and probably need to get some help. No marrige will be perfect, but the ones that make it do no because they couple made it work, not just because they "tried it" and it didn't...

why do babies start crying a moment after the parturition?

sharmistharoy @sharmistharoy (117) • India 15 Feb 07

why do the babies take a little time to cry after parturition.. and that too if the babies fail to cry then several steps are taken to make the baby cry a bit.. but why is this done?

2 responses

oscar30 Some babies come out practically wailing, but most will take a minute. The cry is a good indicator of how the baby is breathing. If a baby has no evidence of mucus and looks pink with good reflex there is no reason to make the baby cry. Some babies are quite...

oscar30 Well, odd to say "I made you". Makes it sound like you had a kit, or clay or something. That might be confusing :) Very cute though! Kids can be so wonderful!

oscar30 I do think children should go to the funerals of people that have known and loved. It helps them understand "dead" and what everyone means by it. It can be important for closure.

oscar30 No one would want to have their urine next to thier body all day, but it is somewhat difficult. Some people use "elimination communication" rather than just using diapers. Run a search and you can read about it. I use cloth diapers like fuzzi-bunz or other...
