where do kids come up with these questions?

During AWANA we had a question answer session about anything that the kids could think of. It was really funny to hear what they could come up with. One boy wanted to know if Jesus was fat or skinny? Another one wanted to know how long Jesus was a "real" person and walked around like other people. It's just really fun to watch them clear up these pending questions. ANd I know there are times my kids ask me things and I'm like I dont know but we can try to find out. WHat is the best question your child has ever asked?

My son once asked me if God is in the sky, how come you can't see him when you're on an airplane ? He was determined that you flew through God's house & Heaven if you were in an airplane. Then he proceeded to ask if God was upset when all those planes with their jet fumes flew through his Heaven and stunk the place up. I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing !!

Haha that's really cute! I don't have any kids of my own yet, but I've worked a lot with kids at my church. Once, we had a drama at our church for Good Friday and the guy that played Jesus is in the military, so he's in really good shape, and this little girl asked if Jesus really had a six pack. lol There was another little kid in Sunday school once who said "I asked God if I could be more like him and He said no!" haha kids are so funny! That's one of those things I'm really looking forward to when I have my own kids! lol

Hehehehhe that is very funny. I bet people were in pretty good shape back then because most of the time they walked every where they went. Kids are great I hope you are blessed enough to have some one day!

I love AWANA and the questions that come up in the minds of my TNT girls. This year after giving a lesson about loving our enemies one of the girls came up to me with a very serious look on her face and asked, "What about the Lutherans though?" Unsure what she was talking about she said, "Are we supposed to love the Lutherans?" Our church is an Evangelical Free Church and I don't ever remember anything ever said about Lutherans (good or bad) so this must be something that she picked up at home or school. I made sure that she knew that Lutheran's are not our enemies and that we should love all people, no matter what church they attend. It still makes me laugh though.

That's kind of ironic, because my daughter is in Cubbies! She loves it and just about finished with her Hopper book. We're getting ready to wind down for the summer too!

I think that is a good session that you do with your kids, it helps the bond grow and you have the chance to know what is it that is puzzling them or what are the doubts on their minds. About the question of that boy of Jesus is fat or skinny, where you able to give an answer? I hope you don't mind me giving one as i just couldn't resist the temptation of give you my opinio. I know that he not skinny nor fat, we all know that Jesus was a carpenter before so i would conclude that he is fit, muscles at the right places due to hard work. Usually my kid would ask me about the stars and the heavenly bodies and when i gave him an answer it would trigger another question and then another and another that sometimes i couldn't resist making an alibi just so i could get away from him :D

Four of our pastors were fielding the questions, and I got to hear about it later. My son asked how old was Jesus before they put him on the cross. I told him 33 and he said that's what they said! Plus they had to walk every where they went for the most part back then.
