I follow the christian pattern of on the eight day. My people (tribe) name babies after 1 month (just in case the baby chooses not to stay or dies at birth or a little afterwards. How's is it where you come from?

Most people do it after eight days, and thats the only one l know of. I dont really know the signifance of the 8-day stuff. lol, your reason makes me laugh, Does it mean some babies choose to die? or does it mean one will give birth and still have room that the baby might choose to die? Whatever, l pray we should have a better significance for the 8-day, or whatever day, naming days.

as soon as we found out that i was pregnant we were really thinking of a name. but my husband was insisting that our kid was a boy so we didnt pay much of a time to think of a girls name. and God is really good, he gave us a baby boy.

I picked a name for my daughter even before she is born. I also believe that God has told Mary to name the baby Jesus before he was born.

Usually people name babies before they are born at my place, but when the babies grow up people will give them another name.
