Since it is summer in our country, my son has rashes on his neck & back due to the hot weather. I tried cooling him off with a wet towel then applying cooling powder on him but nothing works.
Does anyone know any home remedies for heat rash?
Thanks in advance to those who will reply.

best remedy that really works for my kids is cornstarch. they absorb sweat really good and dries off rashes almost instantly. rain water also helps. i don't know why it works but it does. but, you have to wait til the rain comes! lol.
aloe also helps.
keep your son from sweating, change shirt as soon as it gets wet due to sweat. keep him dry by reapplying cornstarch. it really works so, good luck. hope this post helped you.

Is the cornstarch your referring to is the one we use in the kitchen? Ok I think it's time to go to the grocery store to find a box of cornstarch. Thanks!

i think you have to wait up to a week for the product to do it's duty. Keep on visiting this topic so that you'll find some remedy too. Thanks for replying!

Your best bet is to try to keep him out of the heat. you also need to keep him well hydrated at all times. Plenty of fluids will help. Alond with the cool packs give him cool baths to bring his body temperature down. That will help with his heat rash.

i dont know if it will work for your son..try to take him a bath early in the morning, then put him in a cool place, if you have an airconditioned room, put him there for atleast 24 hrs..or if you dont have, put him in front of the eletric fan, dont let him perspire for 24 hrs, dont give any powder because it gives heat to the body and it could lodge to the pores of the rash, just cold water on a towel and change his clothing everynow and then and use cotton shirt without sleeves..i hope it will work..

Aww.. We don't have an airconditioned room. He moves around a lot that's why it's hard to make him sit in one place and put him in front of an electric fan. I'll do the cold towel advice. Thanks anyways.
