People are always getting very attached to their animals and it is easy to do. Sometimes the way they end up in your family it is surprising. They tie theirselfs around your heart and pull the strings tight. They are truly members of the family. The love that surrounds both the human and animal is wonderful to see. With saying this I am posting this and it came from Guidepost in my email. It is three very lovely and touching stories. The site doesn't have any interest titles for both dog and cats together so I choose to put it under life interest so people know why I chose the interest title to put it under. It's almost seven years to the day since I wrapped the limp newborn kitten in a hand towel. The mother, a stray I'd been feeding, had abandoned it on our back doorstep. Taking the vet's advice, we put the kitten on a hot water bottle and tried not to get too attached. By the afternoon, its furry little head was bobbing beneath our touch, and its meows were strong and commanding. We named the kitten Horatio and searched for its mom to see if she might take him back. We found her with five tiny kittens in a nearby dilapidated barn. Carefully, we placed Horatio beside her. Without hesitation, she put her paw around him and licked his head. In time, we found homes for all the kittens and mom cat, too. Of course, we kept Horchow as we call him, all to ourselves. Animals have vast impact on our lives bringing happiness, joy and warmth. The stories in this newsletter are about the beauty and love they share with us. Then Came Ralph ?Kathleen Muldoon, San Antonio, Texas I never believed people who said you could love a pet as much as a family member. Not me. I didn't have any pets growing up, and I didn't want any now. Especially now. I had just started a new job in a new town?San Antonio, Texas?doing the billing for a psychology practice. My boss was nice enough and the job was decent, but so far I still felt unsettled. I'd moved down here from Pittsburgh because I was tired of the cold and because three good friends of mine and their families had made the same move a few years before and loved it. More. The above article originally appeared in the October 2006 issue of Guideposts. A Gardner's Best Friend ?Jo Coleman, Springfield, Vermont Dogs aren't known for gardening, but my Shela loved to help with mine. When I dug with my trowel Shela burrowed her snout into the dirt alongside me. Once when the two of us were out for a country walk, we came upon some violets. Shela barked and jumped for joy. "Guess those are your favorites," I said. When she died, my husband and I buried her in the soil she loved. Neighbors sent flowers and a stone statue of a little dog with angel wings. I put it by the grave. I hope you've found a peaceful garden in heaven, I thought. With lots of purple violets! My own garden was lonely without her, though. For a while I neglected my tending. Then one day I stepped out the back door and gasped. The yard was blanketed with violets! I could imagine Shela running through them, barking and wagging her tail, eager to show them to me. My angel dog. Shela had found plenty of violets in heaven. And an angel had brought them straight to my garden.

I have rated you the + rating for this post once again. This truly is a winner. I love guidepoints. I am a true animal lover. I love all animals, and spoil them with love and kindness. It is true that they are family members, and can be loved as much. They only know to give love. It is the human that is mean, and hurts and abuses so many of these loving creatures. Thank you so much for the post. Keep them coming my friend.

I think of mylot as a place of many friends and when I read something and finish mylot members come to mind. I think about whether they would enjoy what I have read. If I think they would than I post it here. I absolutely love Guidepost. On television I also like to watch Animal Miracles. It is a beautiful program that shows that animals are more than family members but also are angels too. They protect us without looking out for themselves. It is a shame that people can't take a lesson from animals. The world would be in better shape. I look for quality things to put here and things that either make people think or to make them laugh in the joke part of mylot. I have a love of meeting new people and learning how they think about things. It expands the mind to hear others opinions of things. Thank you so much for your compliments and your positive ratings. I appreciate your responses.

I know what you mean. Guidepost is a book and magazine I like to read. Than I signed up so I get emails from them and love reading those also. The nice thing about reading them in my emails and I can paste them and post them here. Yes, I was crying also as I read these. Animals are such special creatures of God. They bring peace and unconditional love to the people in their lives. I have special memories of the pets I have had in the past. They still live in my heart. If you think of any I would love to hear them.

I've read the magazine. Actually the laundry mat kiddy corner from my house gets it. I have a washer and dryer but their in my nasty Michigan basement so if the weather is clummy or wet or I'm just lazy a lot of times I go over there to do laundry - can do a weeks worth in an hour and fifteen minutes :) Anyway, sometimes I put my loads in then come home till time to switch but if I'm back early or just decide to stick around I always track the latest copy down to read. There are such wonderful stories. I dream of writing for something like that some day.

You can accomplish anything you set your mind to. I will look for when you tell me that you have something published in there. I don't say if I say when because you will succeed.

They are very touching and I have come to look on mylot as a place of many friends. So when I come across something mylot members generally pop up in my mind right a way. I am glad you enjoyed them. I love to please people and bring smiles to their faces also.
