I gave my daughter up for adoption because I knew it was the best thing for her. Her new parents had had 9 miscarriages in 5 years of marriage, made literally 100 times what I made for income, and loved each other very much. At the time I was in a relationship that I'd been in for less than a year, was told I'd never be able to work again, and was amidst legal difficulties as well.
I'd love to hear stories (hopefully good ones, but bad as well) about adoption experiences you know of or have participated in. I have a friend in a similar situation where she is just meeting her 16-year-old for the first time and is nervous.
Thanks!

I have two adopted children. They are both teenagers now (18 and 15), but they were adopted from birth. My son's birth mother was only seventeen when she had him and still in high school. My daughter's birth mother was a single mother who was in no financial position to care for another child. Both made adoption plans for their children for different reasons, but with thoughtfulness and unconditional love. They gave me and my husband the greatest gifts in the world. Both are doing very well and I hope someday they can reunite with their birth parents as well. Just know that you did a wonderful and very unselfish thing and you are truly blessed.
