I've been taking multi-vitamin and extra calcium daily. In the past, I don't believe this kind of thing, but now I realized it actually help me. In addition, I have learn to take water-resolvealbe is better than chemical binding, since majority of vitamins are made in the form of chemical binding which will stay in your body if you didn't have enough water as we age. On the other hand, water- resolveable type will flash out the body if your body don't need them. I wonder anyone here taking any form of vitamins regularly. Do you might telling me what are you taking and why?

Hi Hgateway. I used to take multi-vitamins in the past and I believed a lot in it. But lately I came across a discussion here on mylot from someone who read an article about vitamin supplements and she posted the link to the article. It was on CNN. I read that there is no scientific evidence about whether the vitamin supplements help us or not. And that taking too much vitamins can even be dangerous. So now because there is not any scientific evidence I only take calcium just in case, you never know. I take calcium in the hope that maybe it would help with my bones as I am a woman. Take care Hgateway!

Thank you for sharing your opinion with us. Yes, I also saw the post you mentioned. There is alwasys two sides of the coins on all issues; therefore, for the belivers, taking it is more like insure to have better health, but hopefully it's not use it in the way as replace a meal. On the other hand, for non-belivers, no matter how much envidents you provide them, they still don't believe any good of taking vitamins. My husband use to be non-beliver till 2 years back. One time he came back from a business trip and told me that he is getting old, lost energy...etc. and what he has been notice the different in the past. Then, I suggest him start taking multi-vitamins regularly to see if that make any difference to him. A week later, he told me that yes it helps. Of course, even he belives now, but still too lazy to take it himself, so I have to bring water and the pill to him after every dinner. To me, I guess in certain degree it must helps and base on what brand you choose. Wish you all the best and good health...

I was taking prescribed prenatal pills, which I didn't find to do much for me. Ten my dad bought some prenatal pills from GNC and after taking them for about a week I noticed that my nails and hair were growing longer and my skin seemed healthier, not only that but I felt so much better as well. I am now currently taking hair GNC Women's Hair, Skin and Nails Formula, I can definalty see the difference. I take that supplement because I want my hair, skin and nails to be healthy. I also take 500 mg of Vitamin C, because I don't usually eat a lot of fruit. I was thinking of taking a multi-vitamin instead since I know I don't get enough of the vitamins and minerals I need.

Thank you for sharing. I believe that when the time you feel a cold coming, adding vitamin C really would help and keep the cold away.

I started taking calcium pills a while ago, I really tell no differene in anything but I figure its helping me. I never get enough calcium in my system because I dont eat or drink anything like milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream etc. I don't take enough of that in so my doctor recomended taking pills just to make sure I am getting enough.

It's good that you keep up taking calcium pills. Just to be sure that you are taking water-resolvealbe type and drinking enough water, else calcium pill is one of the most to suck in your body which later might cause stone in your body. The reason why I give this advise is, one time a friend of my did an experiment to show me all kinds of calcium she can find on the market along with perscribe one. Through that experiment, I found majority of the calcium are chemcial binding and only few that actually will resolve in water for easy absorbetion. To do the test on your own, you can place a calcium pill in a cup with at least half cup full of water and see whether it will resolve.

I take a multi-vitamin. I also take ginko and vitamin B complex. But to be honest I haven't really noticed a difference while taking them. Rather than spend another $30 on a bottle of vitamins I will probably just start eating better and get a little more exercise.
