My husband and I want to have another child. In order to do this we need to raise $6500.00 to have Tubal Ligation Reversal Surgery.
Yes, I know you can get the surgery done cheaper but it's a big deal so I will only go to the man who pioneered the microsurgical technique. He knows what he is doing and has the highest success rate and he is only 175 miles from our home.
Now that the decision has been made the question arises...How to come up with the $6500.00 to have the proceedure done?
With the usual bills to pay this will have to be money set aside specifically for this prodeecure.
I don't want to hear about get rich quick schemes. I would, however, really appreciate realistic, workable ways to make our baby dreams happen.
Thanks in advance!

Do you do any of the paid surveys? I just started 1 1/2 month ago, and it is actually adding quite a bit to my graduate studies account already. You don't get paid much, but if you sign up for all the good legitimate ones, it adds up. I know a lot of people use the paid surveys to pay for Christmas presents, or just to have some extra spending money.
I actually enjoy doing the surveys, and I don't mind getting paid either. I have a savings group at Gather, if you are not already a member, you should defintely sign up. http://jsine.gather.com.
Let me know if you want some info on saving and surveys, I have written a few articles I can send you, if you do not want to sign up for gather.
Send me a message, if you are interested in more information.

Thank you smartmom! I will look into surveys. I had been doing some when they first became popular but I was never paid for anything. I would like any info you can give me. This baby is important to us so any help in meeting our financial goals is so completely appreciated!

well you could start eating nothing but rice and noodles with butter that should save some money. lol. i am just playing was hoping to get a laugh from you. well as you know there is mylot it helps alittle but your bio clock might run out by the time you save that from here. there are a few other sites i know like mylot that if you want i can give you the links. just add me as a friend and send me a message. also cut cost down. this is what i do. dont go out to eat eat cheaper foods, make sure all the lights are off in the house, you know the drill i am sure. in some states you can do this you will have to check yours. you can get a permit they are usally really cheap and raffle off a bike or something. sell the tickets for a buck a piece and get a bike from walmart for 50.00 you would be amazed at the money you can get. just make sure you really have the raffle. recycle those cans its not much but hey gets you closer. look into laws about holding an event and charging. all states are different. best thing you can do is tighten that belt though. you could always look at getting a personal loan if you have good enough credit you dont have to say what it is for. go to your bank and talk to them. good luck and i hope you get the money fast.

Thank you!
I hadn't considered a raffle but it's really a great idea!
I don't want to get a loan though. We want to pay for it before the surgery and don't want to have to worry about repaying a loan while we're preparing for pregnancy. Babies aren't cheap, but they're worth it! Friend request is on the way!

i can understand not wanting to do the loan. the raffle does work and you would be amazed at the money it can bring just make sure you check into permits for it. just call city hall and talk to them. friends request is great and if you ever need to talk just drop me a line. now for getting ready for the baby go to yahoo groups and type in your city look for like trader or freecycle just about al cities have them. they are groups that people taht clean stuff out etc put on there and it is free to whoever wants to come get it. you can also put i needs in there and you will be amazed at the response you will get. you can also trade stuff too like clothes, books, cars anything really. i use it alot.

I know how you feel - sort of. I can't have babies so we were saving up for adoption - which is costly. But I may have found out what the deal is and we may not need to go down that road after all. Although I still would like to adopt one day.
Do you have a really supportive family? My family is going to start doing yard sales and maybe even a walk-a-thon to help raise the money for our adoption. Also saving the money from your own yard sales is a good idea too. As well as the few bucks you get a month on here. Every little bit helps.

I wasn't sure if Reversal surgery would be an option at first because my doctor rook so much of my tubes. I had even looked into embryo adoption out of Texas at my Mother in-laws' request.
But now that we know that we have a 75 percent chance of conceiving after the surgery, we're going for it. My husband's family is very supportive. They want this as much as we do.
Yes, every bit helps! Once all the bits are put together, we'll be on our way!

My website won't be able to get you that kind of money any time soon but it should earn you at least a thousand or two if you work at it in your spare time. And it's free, you don't have to pay anything for it :D

I will gladly share with you some of the sites I use for making pretty decent money. They will not make you rich, but they will bring in consistant income that is very reasonable. I have made up to $650 extra this month by working on the paid sites I'm a member at. Some of the sites I would recommend pay in the same day, some also pay you for your work in 48 to 72 hours, and then there are a few that pay once a month, you can achieve good earnings every month, and before you know it you'll end up meeting your goal. I would guess for the cash you are talking about it might take any where from 3 to 6 months, possibly shorter depending on how much time and work you up into it. I'll gladly share with you sites that I know pay, just add me to your list and send me a message and I'll send you the links to most of the best paying sites online.

Sounds great! Every penny will help. It will probably take atleast six months to accomplish our monetary goal, which gives me time to finish getting in shape!
We have wanted this baby for eight years. It's just time. Thank you for your help!

well.. to raise that kind of money is kinda hard though, especially if you're just starting out. when do you plan to have another child?
If you're planning to have a baby in 1/2 years to two years' time then you there's some realistic chance. But, if you're searching for a very fast way to earn money then, well, I'm not really sure if you could, since learning to do all those things takes a long time.
But, the good thing is, you won't be needing much time to earn that kind of money if you're talented, or are already an experienced online marketer.
Good luck with your baby then! =)
P.S.:
Have you heard of Wealthy Affiliate? It's an internet marketing university site. Thought you might be interested. I've put up a review here:

No. Not in a huge rush. We are looking at six to eight months until the surgery and then there will be two to three months healing time before we try to get pregnant.
I don't believe in "get rich quick". Anything worth having is worth working for. Thank you for the website!

If you can get some sort of way that you can obtain donations for your procedure that would be the best way to do it. Maybe try a fundraising of some sort. Or you can try to have an online party and use wholesale items to raise money for your procedure.
There is a wholesale distributer who charges no fees at all, and you can just drop ship the items to your guests on your online party. Then also with that you can post it on a free website or like www.ecrater.com or something like that.
maybe try the fundraiser, like schools will raise money by working with fundraising companies like selling wrapping paper or cookie dough or something.
Do not lie about things just be honest with why you are having your fundraising party or whatever, people can choose to support you or not....
Good luck it is the easiest way to raise some funds, even working on mylot would help or you can also go to another website you can PM me if you would like more information on other ways to raise your funds.

Thank you! I had not heard of wholesale parties. That is a cool concept.
Raising funds is a priority right now. I don't expect it to be quick but hopefully quicker than I think!

No, we don't want to get a loan. We want to go ahead and save the money and pay for the surgery beforehand. A loan would mean the stress of extra payments after the surgery when we are trying to prepare for the new baby.
Others have suggested fund raisers and raffles. I think those are great ideas. Also, some of these paid sites are helpful.

I dont know your situation, but a suggestion is to live on the bare essentials and save. Dont buy things that you really dont need, maybe have a garage sale and sell things you no longer want or need, every little bit helps. I really hope your dreams come true.

Thank you for the suggestions! A yard sale or perhaps a booth at the flea market sounds good. Hopefully our dreams will come true sooner rather than later.

I'm guessing you're headed to Chapel Hill in North Carolina huh?
If you're going there, apparently, they have a system where you can open an account with them and pay as much or as little as you like whenever you can till the amount is paid in full. Not only that, if you schedule the surgery for something like within 2 days of payment in full, it costs $1000 less. Or at least, this is what it was when I last checked the website.
It's a lot of money to raise no matter what. I would suggest a raffle, a silent auction maybe and how about some sponsored events if people are willing to help out - something along the lines of maybe sponsoring your husband to have his hair shaved off or something lol. If you think about it properly, you could have a whole lot of fun.
When you have surgery, tell Dr Berger, I'll be there one day too :o) I too need my tubal reversing after suffering with a condition called PTLS.

I'm going to Richard Levine in Louisville , Kentucky.
Dr. Berger was my second choice. He has a great deal of experience too but Dr. Levine studied directly under the surgeon who performed the first surgery and then Dr. Levine invented the microsurgical tools to perfect the proceedure. He has well over 5000 successful surgeries.
And if you don't concieve in the first year, he will re-evaluate you and if necessary, reoperate for free. He will come up with a plan to help you concieve and carry to term for free.
He does have a "lay way" plan. It's coming up with the funds to put in that plan that I'm concerned about now.
I hope that you will be in Dr. Berger's office soon too! I know what it is like to have to wait to do what we should be able to do in the first place.

There's a show on HGTV called Cash in the Attic. I bet they would love to work with you, because it's such a great cause!!! Some people want to build a new deck or get a car or something and they have a goal. Try checking the website and apply. It can't hurt and it would be very fun!!!

Thankfully, you already know ahead of time how much money you need. You have to think like a fund raiser now and set a time limit on when you need to raise the money. This will help motivate you to find ways to raise enough money in a short period of time. You can have a potluck dinner and sell raffles for prizes. Find out if you can get any prizes donated like gift certificates or small eletronic products. Also, start collecting items to sell on Ebay. I have made a great deal of money doing this. It doesn't cost anything to join: all you need are items to sell. Also, try think of other services that you can offer for money like dog walking, baby sitting, personal shopper or any other thing that can help you raise some cash. Good luck to you and may all your baby wishes come true.

While it may take some time but here are a few suggestions:
1. Everytime you spend say a $20 bill 9could be $10, $5 - I don't know your situation) put the change in a piggy bank - IE: buy something for $12.99 and you give the cashier a $20 the the change you get back -- $7.01 gets put away.
2. Borrow from Prosper.com
3. Sell some unwanted/used items on Ebay
4. If you have anything still wit hthe tags on it -IE. Clothes, etc. take them back to the store for a refund. If they still have the tags on then mostlikley you didn't need it that bad.
5. Part time job?
6. Tap 401k or Roth IRA
