Of the people who are opposed to stem cell research, some are opposed to the concept of stem cell research, and others are opposed to the method stem cells will be collected. I was reading in my local newspaper that umbilical cord blood is rich with stem cells. If this method is utilized, would it at least pacify those who are opposed to setm cells because of the method of collection (as opposed to collecting via abortion)? Or did the article I read not give the whole story?

I think collecting Umbilical cord blood after a babys birth is a good way to collect stem cells rather than the abortion way. I dont know why people are against stem cell research, because this research is very helpful for people suffering from some rare or chronic disease for which no cure is available till date.
