Do you think wrestlers make good actors?

I'm talking about the WWE wrestlers of course, since 'the rock' made his transition into movies, and the making of the WWE films production, it's definitely something to think about. I mean, sure, wrestlers have been in movies before, but they have always been depicted as the bad guy like triple H in blade:trinity, or been forced to do comedy actions like the ones Hogan did in his time.
But now I think the face of that stereotype just might change.
See no Evil showcased Kane, in the best way possible, as the big mean red machine like we know him, and I think that he actually did a good job of the character he was given.
I haven't seen the marine yet, although I'm dying to and I'm waiting for the condemned, but I would rather not listen to any bad comments about my champ John Cena or Stone Cold for that matter.
But let's turn our attention to Dwayne Johnson, or as we better know him, "the rock".
Now he started off, no surprises, and the bad guy, the scorpion king in "the mummy returns", but the character became so popular that it deserved a movie on its own, and that's when we saw the rock in the lead in "the scorpion king", now the movie was not as impressive but it had a good soundtrack, but I guess it must be hard for any wrestler to get out of the stereotype of totally action related movies, the rock did other films, like 'the rundown', and 'walking tall',the game adaptation of "doom", all watchable movies, but I really loved his work in "be cool", where he played a gay gangster with a love of dancing and acting. It made me see him in a whole new light, and I thought to myself, hey, wrestlers can make good actors, if they're given the right opportunity.
I mean they are acting every day in their lives, pretending to be the mortal enemies of each other, when in reality they're on the road all the time and best of buddies. So it mustn't be that hard to make the simple transition, right?
Plus now with WWE films, their own production, I don't think anyone's gonna be able to stop them from trying. And hey at least they're not fakers in the fact that they do their own stunts unlike most actors.
So what are opinions on this subject?

nope, I didn't see that yet, that's good, I told you he is quite popular, I know that must have made your day.
Well, coming back to the topic, i disagree with you here, because that's what people used to say about models when they first started, and now look at where we are, all the best and most popular actors are models, so i wouldn't underestimate wrestlers if I were you.

hi there vega i must say u are very strong minded girl, when you hv a point, u just stick and i like this about you very much. now models and wrestlers are 2 different things can u imagine a wrestler in the role of mr. smith or father from father of bride or something like that ,i'm not ruling out possibility but for exceptions ,you can't make rules.there can be one or two wrestlers who can be good but not in general and at the same time not all models are good in acting most of them are still emotionless .acting is an intelligent ,u can hone skills but the seed should be there.lol dear. i know u gonna answer this,i hope u take it in good debating spirit only and we reamain freinds.

oh great, I will love Cena anyway, but I'll take your word for it that's it's gonna be even better. It always seems to be out whenever I go to my DVD shop, I wonder when I'll ever get to see it.
Kane was excellent in 'see no evil'
Stone cold looks great in 'the condemned' previews.
And the rock has done so well in so many movies.
So that's a yes, wrestlers can act.

They are as good actors as singers and models.
They just make good publicity to a movie. That is it.
Any person that is not an actor trying to endorse in a actor/actress carer will only bring publicity not quality to a movie.

Oh really?
But Hollywood right now is full of models turned actresses and very good ones at that, and some of those are also Oscar winners now, so what do you say to that.
I would suggest that you not underestimate what each individual might be capable of.
And if you don't believe me, then check out 'the rock' in 'be cool', he didn't have a huge role, but whatever he did have, he nailed it!!

Oh yes, I do think so. After all, all the so called matches are all staged. Well, to a certain extent.

Yup, they can always work part-time when they retire.
... OMG, did you mark mine as the best response by mistake? *gasp*

"if you smell what the rock is cooking" is indeed a good wrestler and entertainer for that matter. not only has he fans at ringside but on movie screens as well. lately, another former wrestler is making that jump from wrestling ring to movie screen. stone cold steve austin made his movie debut, wherein he plays the main character, in the movie condemned. now, i have seen that movie and i am impress really. i also watched "see no evil" starring kane, and he really is a monster on film as well. i have watched it with my cousins (both girls) and they were both frightened as hell. hehehe. i just laughed. the great khali can play running back as well as he did on "the longest yard" with adam sandler. yes, wrestlers are good actors as well.

I haven't seen 'the longest yard' but I have seen 'see no evil' and you're right, Kane did do a really good job. And there are other movies with wrestlers too, like 'the marine' with John Cena, I haven't seen it yet.
And then there was triple H in 'blade:trinity' and he made a really good bad vampire, so I'm sure they are capable of it.
