Little quirks while cooking

Do you have little quirks to put you in the mood for cooking? For instance, do you play music while cooking? Should the television be on while you're cooking? In my case, I like to have the television turned on while I cook. I need not see the screen. As long as I hear what's being aired, that's good enough for me.

I used to have a radio in my kitchen. I'd listen to the radio, while the rest of the family was watching television. But alas, my kitchen has recently been remodeled and I haven't put the radio back yet. When I'm home by myself, I'll crank up the stereo in my living room. You can usually hear the music outside of our house. Lol. We live in the country so my music doesn't bother anyone. I even been known to dance around the kitchen when a good song comes on (much to my sons embarrassment). Tee hee! Hugs.

LOL but that's still sweet. Your son isn't embarrassed for sure. His flushed cheeks are just for show =) Thanks for your response!

I hate cooking at the best of times, nothing puts me into the mood only the grumble of my empty stomach...lol.

I always have music playing in the background. My kitchen is a tiny little hallway right next to our music room, so my BF will get on and play the drums along with the music when I don't have anything for him to do. We listen to lots of stuff. I like the cardigans in the morning, sabbath in the afternoon, al green in the evening. The BF usually puts on Zappa or led zeppelin if left to his own devices. But for breakfast or brunch it's almost always the cardigans or radiohead. Weird. My sister is like you with the TV thing. She doesn't care if she can see the screen or not. She just likes to listen in and, when she's got a moment, go and stand in the doorway to catch a glimpse.
