conect two computers?

hey guys i want to connect my system with my friends .i have got internet and he doesnt.
he is nearly 3 kilometers away frm .now how can i connect my system with his so that i we can share files.

Adding up to my first post, using TelNet, you can share files even if you don't have Internet connection. Just make sure that both of you have a Phone line.

ya we both have telephone lines .
tell me how we can share files.we need to exchange files.
how does it work
is it like network for ex if can i watch movies frm my friends computer,that is usually posiible with networknig
or is it like downloading ,where i should download first and then view it?
tell me how to do
becuase we need to run each others house to share movies

You cannot watch movies directly from your friends computer. You have to copy it first to your computer..
About the configuration, you should see the documentation manuals or visit Microsoft's website for proper configurations.

assuming both of you have telephone line.. then you can configure both computers using TELNET (That is if you're using Windows OS).

It would not be possible to network the two computers with no internet and such a distance between them. Your only option for file transfer would be as the previous responder suggested, which is to tranfer the data on some form of removable media.
