Good blog hosting services and software? Any suggestions?

I am thinking about starting a new blog, however I don't think I want to use Blogger's templates for this one (my current blog is hosted at blogger and uses one of their templates). I am, for the most part happy with Blogger as a host, I just don't like thei limited selection of templates. They don't have many to choose from, and most of them have a lot of wasted space. Any suggestions on either good blogging software or another host (either free or inexpensive as I also have hosting fees for my web site) that would offer better templates? Thanks for the help in advance!

I have actually found an excellent free web host that includes the necessary database to host a WordPress blog on your site. It is located at http://www.justfree.com. You can use their subdomain, or host your own for free. The blog is easy to install, and you have access to all the wordpress plugins and templates. I installed mine the other day, and it was so simple.
