What's your favorite song of Loreena McKennitt

I didn't even know who she was till The Mummers' Dance came ot. I reall loved that song. Iwoul have to say that my fave is The Highwayman on her The Book of Secrets cd. have since collected a few of her cds. I m looking forward to getting her new one.

I'm so glad to find fellow Loreena McKennitt fans! I absolutely love Dante's Song; The Dark Night of the Soul is also a great song to listen to when you feel that you're spiritually or emotionally down. I must admit, though, that it was The Mummer's Dance that first got me into the McKennitt mood! I always listen to Loreena's songs when I write my novels: she always seems to provide the best backdrop for historical settings.

My favorite song by here is "The Mystic's Dream". It's hard to explain why I like it so much. It was the first song I had ever heard by her. I first heard it in the movie "The Mists of Avalon" which was originally a made for tv movie. The first time I heard the song, I wasn't even sure what the words were, but something about the music really touched my soul.

Hi there, I love Loreena's music too. My favorite songs are Night Ride Across the Caucausus, The Highwayman, Marco Polo, Green Sleeves and these are not all. She is really outstanding singer, songwriter and composer.

Dante's Prayer is my favourite and Night Ride Across the Caucasus, though I like most of her songs. I have Night Ride playing right now, it feels so relaxing, like I am on a horse gently galloping along a road in the darkness, moon shining, wind brushing against my face, going onwards into life. I first heard Loreena McKennitt when a friend loaned me a tape, The Mask and Mirror back in the early 90's. Since then I have been a big fan and now have most of her CD's even the written music to Dante's Prayer so I can play it on the piano (sort of). I love the way she puts old words, poems, to music...like, The Highwayman, The Lady of Shalott, Keat's poem, The Two Trees (beautiful). I wish one day she would come to New Zealand, I would love to see her on the stage, live.
