How good are you?

Well, many people say they can play the Guitar. But how good they really are? I consider myself a begginer: I can learn anything my teacher teaches me, but I can't take any music with my ears. Also, I have difficulties making the beat of the music. And you? Can you play a music just from listening to it? Can you play different styles? (Samba, Reggae, Rock, Pop Rock) Can you sing while playing? Be your own judge!

They say practice makes perfect. So, if someone learns new things and practice it as often as he/she can, then that's how being good at it begins. Eventually, when you master it already, you will not only be admired by many but they would probably say you're one of the best. As to playing guitar, I'm into acoustic. I have began playing guitar since 12 yet when I reached college, I was not able to enhance my skills that much anymore. But still, I consider my guitar as my best buddy. I like acoustic music a lot. I play music just by listening to it too. If it's in piano, I hardly read notes but when being able to listen to the song, I can catch up and play it directly. Same as with the guitar. It's a lot easier to play music with guitar. :)

I'm kind of bad and good at guitar at the same time. I can figure out the chords to songs just by hearing them (Even if theyre not CFGAm or GDAEm or whatever) But when it comes down to rhythm all I can really do is strum. I can sing way better than I play guitar though. That's a lot of the reason I play, so that I have some music to sing along with most places I go.

That must be cool, I wish I could take sounds with my ear! But I can't. Anyway, beats make me crazy. When I hve to create a beat for a music, I have problems. You know beats: two times down, two times up, etc.
