How to date safely...

Use a little common sense to keep yourself out of trouble. Instructions STEP 1: Meet in public places. If possible, double date or go out with a group of people. STEP 2: Go Dutch. By paying for your portion you won't feel as if you are under any kind of obligation. STEP 3: Remember that alcohol affects your judgment and lessens your inhibitions. If you are drinking, keep your drink in sight at all times. STEP 4: Don't assume just because a person claims to be religious that he's safe. STEP 5: Use your own mode of transportation. Your mom was right - don't ride with strangers. Always have your own ride to and from a date. And leave with a full tank. STEP 6: Arrange to meet your date; don't let him pick you up at home. STEP 7: Be cautious about letting someone know exactly where you live. It's scary to be stalked later if things don't work out. STEP 8: Avoid secluded areas such as beaches and parks. STEP 9: Listen to your gut. If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Tips & Warnings Always let someone else know where you're going and who you'll be with. You might even consider arranging a time to call and check in. I know I have gotten into a few dangerous situations, just be careful and use these tactics. Have you ever gotten yourself in a dangerous situation with a date? Tell all.

I think you are giving some real good advice. I also think all young girls should heed it. I think that I would add someone who knows where you are is a good thing as well.
