What do you use to backup your files, photos and music? If you don't backup your files, what are your reasons? Computer users store irreplaceable files like financial documents, family photos and digital music on their systems. However, 46% of U.S. adults never backup their personal information. If a hard drive crash or natural disaster results in data loss, these files can never be recovered. What prevents computer users from backing up their data when it can save them a great deal of trouble in the future?

I always backup my files. To backup my data files, I just copy them to CD-RW or DVD+RW with Nero, setting it to validate the data afterward. To backup my operating system, applications, and settings; I use Acronis True Image. I create the image on HDD first, setting it to split the archive into 4.7 GB volumes and validate upon completion. Then, I boot back into Windows and burn the volumes to DVD+R with Nero, setting it to validate the data afterward.

Well, I seldom backup my files too. I know it's a bad habit, but I'm just lazy. I always plan to burn my files into CD, so that I can keep it somewhere. I uploaded some of my files to my emails or web space.

I am terrified of losing my files, particularly the digital photos of my sonĀ“s first year and a half! So I am constantly burning everything to DVDs, multiple times.
