I'm currently finishing up my master's in biology and will be moving on a Ph.D. program in the fall, also in biology. My emphasis is in ecology. Current plans for my Ph.D. are to focus more on statistics, modeling, and simulations. I'm looking to bridge that gap between biology/ecology and computer science.

I had my baby when I was studying my master's in Urban Geography. So while I wrote my thesis developed an interested in mother and child issues (as transportation, parenting practices..) and decided to go for a PhD combining both my interests in Urban G and Mothering. I was accepted in the PhD program but decided to go back to my country and leave the PhD for later. I definetly still want to go back to university, maybe when my son is 5 or so, and the topic would definetly have to do with mothering and/or young children.

I think your decision is absolutely right, I have obtained my PhD in molecular biology. But It's quite difficult to find a job.

I think food engineeering, like my fiancee is trying to, seems to be a rather interesting field of studies ---------------- Have a nice day -JCM-
