After weeks and weeks of nothing but Sanjaya buzz, whether it be about his hair, bad singing, or comments to Simon he finally goes home tonight. Did anyone feel sad about it? I kinda did after he held onto Lakisha and cried, he still is after all a 17 yr old kid who got an incredible oppurtunity and its over for him.. what do you think?

I don't have an ounce of sadness for him. He shouldn't have been there at all. He should have left weeks ago. I couldn't stand him. Better people were being voted off because of HIM. Don't feel bad for him. Blame the people at votefortheworst.com and Howard Stern who made him "think" that he was good. He was horrible! That is just my .02 about the situation. I have almost lost my voice because I was so happy to see him go!

I clapped too, I was a little afraid to see Blake in there but as soon as Ryan said "Blake, your safe" I was relieved. Then I thought Lakisha was going, honestly im used to everyone else going before him. Then Ryan said "Sanjaya, you are going home" and I did clap as well.

I do feel bad for him. He needed to go, and probably should have been gone a few weeks ago, but I still do feel bad for him. Through all the hype and Sanjaya haters talking about him and saying he can't sing and he sucks and all this stuff, there was nothing he could do but sit and take it and try to do the best he could. It wasn't his fault people kept voting for him when others felt that he should be booted. Sad part is, he really is still a kid, and he's not untalented..he can sing, and he's a good looking kid and seems like a nice kid too..but he's just not as good as he needs to be to be the next Idol and it was past his time to go. :O)

I had mixed emotions about last night's show. I was really disappointed to see Lakisha in the bottom three, so I was relieved that she wasn't the one going home. Sanjaya going home was bound to happen. There's no way he would be the next American Idol. He even knew it was coming (did you see the tears after the commercial break right before he was booted?). He seems like a nice kid and I'm sure opportunities will be coming his way soon. He's so lucky to have made it this far in the competition as are all the other contestants. Bye Bye Sanjaya, I'm sure we'll see you again!

I feel bad for the poor kid. He had his moments and obviously the judges liked him enough to put him in the top 24, so how bad can he really be? America kept him around and it is not his fault they voted for him. He is a genuine, good-hearted kid and people are exploiting him because he wasn't the best but people liked him. Just because I feel bad for him, though, doesn't mean I don't think he should go home, as many other better singers have gone home before him.

I so sad that he is gone. I know he's not gonna win the idol but somehow this young man gave me a lot of fun. He is the only reason why I watch AI.

sanjaya was ok! i love the way he handled Simon's and the majority of people's criticisms...he was truly unflappable. and that smile...but i'm actually glad to see him go. its unfair to those with more talent, hahaha. we all have talent, in some degree or another.but idol needs someone with more talent than he does.

I didn't feel bad for him at all, he lasted ALOT longer then he should have on that show. He should feel blessed for the opportuinty he was given when honestly I felt he didn't belong there in the first place. I think we are still going to see alot of Sanjaya in the future...

Yes, I am very glad that he has finally been sent home. I will admit that when he held onto Lakeshia and cried, I remembered that he was just a kid and I did feel bad for him. I know, however, with his knack for stirring up controversy and his extrovert attributes that he will go on to do something else.

I was sad to see him go. He seems like a sweet kid and he's a marketing genius. :) I hoped Phil would go home last night but no...

I wanted him to go-- all along.. but I can't say I wasn't sad to see him go- I felt terrible for him-- I think so far he has been the most emotional when voted off- It's sad! he cried and cried-- I hope that all the Negative advice from Simon and America doesn't stop Sanjaya from following his dreams. I think he has potential-- Give him more experience and age and he will do fine. I'm glad that it was him- He was the worse singer on the show-- I didn't want to see another "Gina" go before him.

I do feel bad for him since he does seem like such a nice person...however, I am glad he's gone now. :) I just don't know how he stayed on there this long. He's just really not up to par with the other singers on the show.

I am glad he was sent packing as he lacked the talent to make it as far as he did. I also feel bad for the guy, it wasn't his fault he kept advancing and I think he did the best he could. Maybe in a few years his voice will mature and he will be a force to be reckoned with. Either way my heart goes out to him, he is only 17 and it must hurt. At least he'll make some money from being in the top 10.

Nah, I didn't feel bad...he should have gone home weeks ago. My sister did feel a little bad when he started crying...but it's emotional for everyone up there.

Well as for me, I'm not really a big fan of american idol but I got hooked at it about the sanjaya thing and I don't know but I'm entertain by his way of singing and looks. Yeah I feel a bit sad cause I know he did his best. Anyway, I think my time for American Idol is finish since he is not there anymore and I think that goes to alot of people.

I only felt bad that it didn't happen about 10 weeks ago!!!! He is from my area and his local interview seemed pretty cocky...his sister is insufferable in her interview...I'm so glad it is over and he is off...but if you're feeling sorry for him..he still gets to tour with the top 10 this entire summer...and maybe someone will talk him into going back to school since he quit and took the GED test instead..he was pretty sure he was going to win this competition...so ..I feel badly for them all on the night they find out..but usually agree...until this season when every week I wanted it to be Sanjaya...and some with much better voices left early in the competition because of his large voting base...

I think once he was in the bottom 3 he knew it was going to be him, just a sense. But my mother-in-law was hoping for him to be voted off. FINALLY! Did I feel bad for him? Sure I did, I mean he's a kid and he cried, but you know what, there are many other things he should do. He had his share of 15 min of fame, so at least he got something out of it.

i totally agree that there were much more talented people in the competition, but now that he is gone i feel sad. He had a great charming personality and was an entertainer. Because you should remember american idol is not just a singing competition. People mostly vote for the person with a good mix of singing talent & personality !!
