It is about time! Partial birth abortion was the most horrendous thing to have been allowed. And finally we have stopped it in our country! http://www.aclj.org/News/Read.aspx?ID=2595&email=ely6576@sbcglobal.net&guid=FAE52ADF-D769-4A82-BB6B-E2C8307C26AE

AMEN!! I just don't understand how a woman can carry a baby for 7-8 months & THEN decide to murder it! I don't agree with abortion, but if the baby is viable then it REALLY shouldn't be murdered! I had a friend in college who was only a year younger than I am that was born 3 months premature, yes, she was developemantally about a year behind her age group & her parents decided to give her the time to catch up, but she was as bright a gal as I ever met. So why are people allowed to kill babies that would survive outside the womb, just because they aren't there yet????

This is wonderful. Probably the pro choice people will kick up a big fuss again, but if the Supreme Court has decided no, then as far as I am concerned, the pro choicers are defeated.

I once discussed partial birth abortion with a liberal member of my family who favored it, but really had no idea what partial birth abortion actually entailed. When I explained it, she thought I was mistaken or lying as she was sure her friends who were for it would not favor something so close to murder. To this day I suspect this person favors partial birth abortion, but thinks I am a kook for comparing it to infanticide. This brings up that partial birth abortion is mis-named. It really is infanticide. That Justice Ginsberg (she wrote the Supreme Court desenting opinion) does not understand this saddens me deeply. If she does understand it, I am horrified.

I know that this is the subject of much debate in America these days but I so agree with you. How can anyone live with themselves knowing they purposely killed a baby is beyound me. I just cant understand. I have heard remarks like "it it my body" and I wonder whose body they think it is that they are killing. It is a body too. An inocent child that cannot defend itself. Thank goodness we are now taking a stand against this terrible act.

Please understand that people are not using the "it's my body argument" for late term abortions. Legally and ethically these abortions are only performed when there is a terrible medical prognosis for the baby.

No method of ending the baby's life at this stage is pleasant. You could write an equally horrible description of any of them. What would you suggest needs to be done, if the baby's head is filled with up to two gallons of fluid and can't pass through the birth canal?

"What would you suggest needs to be done, if the baby's head is filled with up to two gallons of fluid and can't pass through the birth canal?" In a case such as this, the partial birth abortion procedure obviously would be appropiate. The problem has been partial birth abortions performed without a compelling reason. The movement to have this procedure banned, (partial birth abortion) was, I believe, started by the nurse who use to assist the doctor who invented it. She was horrified at how the procedure was used and began to let it be known what was going on. Thus, the movement to ban partial birth abortion was not begun by some ignorant emotional person but a trained medical professional experienced in how the procedure was really being used.

Praise the Lord our God for the victory against murder in our nation. We were cursing our own nation my committing murder each and every day. The bible clearly states, 'Thou shall not kill.'

I had no idea that was something that happened. I thought you couldn't get an abortion after your first trimester. That has got to be one of the worse things a person can do. That's murder. No questions about it. It's not a fetus anymore. It's a baby! I'm so glad they passed that law! Personally, I don't think it should have ever been legal.

Existing laws did ban abortion on demand after the first trimester. Late term abortion is legal only in the case of the fetus having a poor medical prognosis, and these conditions usually can't be detected until the second trimester. This ban is only on one method of late term abortion; the others are no less terrible sounding, but the ban will mean that some women who's fetuses have very specific disabilities will not be able to have the safest method performed on them.

That is good. I am glad that they have. If you are that far along then you shouldn't do that.

Praise Jesus in having partial abortions stopped. I could never understand how someone could go through with thi stype of abortion. I am sorry. If they don't want they child..Just deliver it and give it for adoption. I know many people who would gladly take the child.

It's not a case of not wanting the child; it's a case of knowing that the child will be born suffering if it even makes it through birth, and will die soon after. People are not lining up to adopt babies with trisomy 13, 85% of whom die within one month of being born.

Thank God!. So many people did not understand the process, they should have, after all if you carry a baby for 7 or 8 months they are very much alive. Babies are such a miracle. Partial abortion is murder I always find this out about any candidates I vote for.

Wow -- that's SUCH good news! I've always wondered how partial birth abortions could possibly be considered legal. Now, they're not! (you can't see it, but I'm doing my happy dance for this one!!!)

I couldn't get that link to your article to come up. The governor (D) of my state just signed something to prevent our Oklahoma Congress from abolishing partial birth abortion in our state. I didn't vote for him, and I sure wish partial birth abortion was completely banned.

I cant understand how Partial Birth Abortions could ever have been allowed. It is plain and simple murder , It is cruel and how any medical doctor could ever justify it I will never understand. I don't think people really know what is involved in performing a partial birth abortion. If they did they could not ever live with voting on it. I did not understand what it was myself and when I found out how far along the patient was when these were being performed I was sickened. Then when I saw a diagram of how they are performed it made me sick. It still does. It is just so awful. I could not live with myself if I had this done. And if they do not show the patient what they are going to do to the baby and the patient finds out later it is bound to have a affect on them for the rest of their life's. If you agree with partial birth abortions you really need to goggle it and see just how these are performed. I could put it here but it is just too graphic and disgusting. Just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach.

I have never understood how a person could justify abortion but to say that partial abortion is acceptable would be the highest form of disregard for life. That little tiny baby is breathing and living. How heartless can a person be to look down at this precious gift from God and snuff out it's life for whatever reason. I think it is a sad situation when this has to even come up to be decided by courts. It makes me wonder what is this world coming to. I stand up and say good for the courts. No matter what the dispute of whether the baby is truly a baby in the mother is one thing but when it comes out of the mother kicking up a storm and crying that is something else entirely! The baby is a living, breathing human being. That is murder in my book.
